I vow to love where the world forgets,

to plant peace where only ashes remain.

To lift the broken, feed the hungry,

and walk with those left behind.

I will carry no crown but kindness,

no weapon but mercy,

no shield but faith.

I’ll speak with fire—but only to warm.

I’ll walk through shadows—but never alone.

Where there’s pain, I’ll be presence.

Where there’s silence, I’ll be song.

I vow to see the face of God

in strangers, in the poor, in the earth beneath my feet.

Let my hands be healing,

my life be light,

and my heart—a refuge for all.

This is my path.

This is my promise.

This is my love.

Amen.

🌟 The Vow of John Patrick Lux 🍀

A Student of Jesus. A Lover of God’s All Creation.

Only God knows the hour of resurrection.
But while we walk the Earth, we must walk in love.
I am not Jesus Christ—
But I am His student.
I walk in His footsteps, knowing I will never be Him,
but trying every day to reflect His love, His mercy, His light.

God gave me this life,
and I vow to use it for those who cannot fight for themselves.
I vow to love my neighbors as I love myself.
To seek no crown but kindness,
to chase no glory but grace.

Because God loves all of His creation.
He loves the poor and the rich, the strong and the broken.
He loves every soul, every hair on every head—
and He gave us free will
to choose love over hate,
peace over violence,
hope over despair.

Love has already won.

I once pushed someone down.
I was young, and I was wrong.
But I vow—before God, my parents, and my future children—
I will never push the little one down again.
I will lift them.
Forever.

I believe in the commandments, not just in law but in love:

  1. Love YAH—seek Him daily, speak His name with reverence.

  2. No idols—nothing above God, especially not money.

  3. Keep His name holy—it is power, not profanity.

  4. Keep the Sabbath—one hour, one day, for rest and reverence.

  5. Honor your parents—Joseph, Mary, and all who raise us.

  6. Do not kill.

  7. Do not betray love.

  8. Do not steal.

  9. Do not lie—especially about others.

  10. Do not covet—celebrate what is yours, not envy what is not.

And to this generation I say: Let us not record our shame— Let us honor our bodies as sacred, and see each other not as objects, but as souls made by God.

We are not puppets. We are not animals. We are people— made to love, to laugh, to run, to play ball, to dance, to help, to grow. Let us exercise. Let us rejoice. Let us be free.

I, John Patrick Lux, vow this: To wake up every day and choose love. To serve the people. To work hard with joy in my bones and fire in my soul. To live for what is right, and to walk humbly with my God.

This is my truth. This is my calling. This is my love.

Amen.
